This is an installation based body of work that I did as a
statement on the work of photographers. The phographer's
lifestyle revolves around constant observation of everything
around us, always seeking that image that perfectly instills
any given moment, feeling, or scene.
I utilized enlargers in a dark room as a series of
projectors, making positives from ortho litho film. The space
represents the part of the photographic process that is not
seen by most people - the enviroment where phorographers
spend hours producing their invisioned image. For any anolog
photographer, the darkroom becomes a place of comfort. The
scent of the chemicals, the sound of the wash trey, and the
soft amber light are part of an almost ritual process.
The images in the series are based around typical exploration
with the camera. It is how most photographers get their start
with a simple fascination and desire to capture what is
beutiful. From there it is the job of the photographer to
process his image into something unique to be shared.
